Fort Collins' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Avery Alcaraz, who scored 20 points. Alcaraz has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jocelyn Kramar, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Fort Collins' defeat dropped their record down to 11-3. As for Monarch, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Fort Collins will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Brighton at 6:30 p.m. Brighton is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Monarch, they will head out on the road to take on Horizon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Horizon presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Monarch in Colorado (Horizon is ranked tenth, while Monarch is ranked 55th).
