The York Dukes will take on the Central City/Centura Kernels at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. York is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.

York is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 18 runs on Monday, they were much more limited against Norris on Tuesday. They fell 7-2 to the Titans.

York saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emmitt Dirks, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases. Carsen Pieper was another, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Central City/Centura strolled into their game on Tuesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They walked away with a 9-4 win over St. Paul/Palmer.

Jakob Ruhl was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Gorecki, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Central City/Centura's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-0. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for York, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7.

Thursday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. York has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .436. However, it's not like Central City/Centura struggles in that department as they've averaged .471. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
