L.C. Bird has been on the road for three straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Manchester Lancers at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Tuesday, L.C. Bird strolled past Cosby with points to spare, taking the game 55-38. Given L.C. Bird's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked third, while Cosby is ranked 35th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
L.C. Bird got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Trinity Dale out in front who scored 13 points along with 6 steals. Dale is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Aliyah Elliott, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Manchester blew past Powhatan, posting a 80-13 win on the road.
Their wins bumped L.C. Bird to 4-0 and Cosby to 2-2.
L.C. Bird skirted past Manchester 54-51 when the teams last played back in February. Will L.C. Bird repeat their success, or does Manchester have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
