Meanwhile, Rockmart strolled past Bowdon with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 69-52. Given Rockmart's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 130th, while Bowdon is ranked 532nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Rockmart had a senior duo take command as Treylin Davis scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and three steals and Samuel Johnson scored 22 points along with two steals. Davis hasn't dropped below 15points for eight straight games. Hunter Atkins was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds.
Murray County's win bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Rockmart, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-3.
