On Friday, the Kelly Walsh Trojans faced the Star Valley Braves in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Kelly Walsh fell to Star Valley 54-49. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Kelly Walsh of the 57-46 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2023.
Several Trojans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jace Nicholls, who scored seven points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jayden Becker, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Kelly Walsh's defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Star Valley, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-4.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Jackson Hole the next time they take the court. Kelly Walsh will head out to face Jackson Hole at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Star Valley will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
