The Bayside Marlins will head out to take on the Ocean Lakes Dolphins at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ocean Lakes took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Bayside, who comes in off a win.
On Thursday, Bayside narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Indian River 6-4.
Delsyn Csatlos made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 4.1 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off only two hits. Csatlos was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one RBI. That RBI marked the first that he has brought in this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Evan Butler, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Jeremiah Rivera was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Ocean Lakes' good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They came up short against James Island, falling 14-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Dolphins have suffered since April 17, 2024.
Ocean Lakes also got a good showing from Mitchell Beyers, who tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off four hits.
At the plate, Donovan Nagle and Ryan Gocio stepped up to the plate in a big way. Nagle went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles, while Gocio went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
Bayside's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-6. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Ocean Lakes, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.
Bayside suffered a grim 12-0 defeat to Ocean Lakes in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Marlins avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
