The Greenwood Mennonite Flames will square off against the Tome Titans at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Greenwood Mennonite is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.9 runs per game this season.
Greenwood Mennonite took a loss when they played away from home on April 10th, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They put the hurt on Chestertown Christian Academy with a sharp 25-4 win. The Flames haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

The team relied heavily on Nate Zdobysz (HS), who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Greenwood Mennonite is undefeated when Zdobysz (HS) posts two or more runs, but 2-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Blake Mast, who went 1-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Greenwood Mennonite kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Tome waltzed into their matchup on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They skirted past the Crusaders 4-2.
Blaine Pendergraft spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Jayden Davies was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Noah Reyes was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run.
Greenwood Mennonite's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Tome, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Greenwood Mennonite has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .439. However, it's not like Tome struggles in that department as they've averaged .460. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Greenwood Mennonite suffered a grim 7-0 defeat to Tome in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will the Flames have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
