The Cooperstown Hawkeyes entered their tilt with the Sherburne-Earlville Marauders with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Cooperstown enjoyed a cozy 67-53 victory over Sherburne-Earlville on Friday. That's another feather in the cap for Cooperstown, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Cooperstown was led to victory by Brody Murdock and Charlie Lambert. Murdock scored 16 points, while Lambert scored 23 points along with six rebounds and four steals. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Lambert has scored at least 25% of Cooperstown's points. Jackson Crisman was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Cooperstown's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.7 points per game. As for Sherburne-Earlville, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cooperstown will stay at home for another game and welcome Richfield Springs Central at 6:30 p.m. on December 27th. Sherburne-Earlville will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Canastota at 7:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
