Western Harnett was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 41st straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 55-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Harnett Central Trojans. One positive for the Eagles, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Harnett Central found their leader in sophomore Rylan Beasley, who went 8 for 18 on his way to 21 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Beasley has scored all season. Another player making a difference was DJ Brown, who went 6 of 13 en route to 13 points.

Western Harnett's loss dropped their record down to 0-16. As for Harnett Central, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-7.

Western Harnett and Harnett Central could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. Western Harnett will face off against Pine Forest at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th down 418 places (599 vs. 181). Meanwhile, Harnett Central (ranked 383rd) will meet Westover (ranked 174th) at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th.
