The Christoval Cougars will take on the Haskell Indians at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Christoval comes in on three and Haskell on eight.
Christoval is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Wink, sneaking past 11-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cougars have posted since March 13th.

Christoval got a massive performance out of Malayah Quinn, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Quinn is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Aubrey Young was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, Haskell won against Coleman on Thursday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. The Indians didn't even let the Bluecats on the board, marking the Indians' second-straight 10-0 shutout. Considering the Indians have won ten contests by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Brynlee Stocks made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Stocks was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one triple. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Landri Adkins, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Rebekah Cunningham, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Haskell kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in five consecutive games.
Haskell's win bumped their record up to 17-6. As for Christoval, their victory bumped their record up to 18-5-1.
Christoval's speedy runners might be the difference in Wednesday's matchup. The Cougars have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Haskell, though, as they've been averaging only 1.1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Christoval continue to outrun the ball?
Christoval suffered a grim 17-6 defeat to Haskell in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
