The Pitman Pride lost against the Gregori Jaguars back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Pitman's rough 28-7 defeat to Gregori might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Pitman can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 495th, while Gregori is ranked 246th).
Michael Marsden continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Gregori, rushing for 201 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.7 yards per carry. Marsden was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 67 yards. Reggieon Foster did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 89 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Pitman's defeat was their sixth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 2-7. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 12.3 points per game. As for Gregori, the win was the third in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.
Pitman will be playing in front of their home fans against Modesto at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Modesto has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since August 25th. As for Gregori, they will head out on the road to face off against Downey at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Downey is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
