Basketball Recap: Monarch Continues Road Dominance on Tuesday

Monarch extended their road winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Sienna Williams. The Monarch Coyotes walked away with a 47-38 win over the Holy Family Tigers on Tuesday thanks in part to Williams, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 23 rebounds. Her evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

When it comes to explaining why Holy Family lost, don't look at Gracie Ward. Despite the final result, she went 5 of 9 on her way to 13 points and five steals. Ward has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexcia Oaxaca, who posted eight points and five rebounds.

Monarch is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 4-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.2 points per game. As for Holy Family, their defeat ended a 14-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-2.

Monarch wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 47-32 victory against Horizon on the 10th. As for Holy Family, they will head out to face off against Erie at 5:30 p.m. on January 14th.
