The Flint River Academy Wildcats were the 67-42 winner over the Oak Mountain Academy Warriors when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The game between the two teams wasn't particularly close, with Flint River Academy falling 45-31. They found out winning isn't easy when you're outrebounded 16 to 6 on offense.
Flint River Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bode Chaney, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Cole Riner, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.
Brandon Bain was his usual excellent self, scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds for Oak Mountain Academy. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeb Harper, who scored four points along with two steals.
Flint River Academy's loss was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-2. As for Oak Mountain Academy, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Flint River Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Westwood at 5:30 a.m. on January 20th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Georgia (Westwood is ranked 523rd, while Flint River Academy is ranked 520th). As for Oak Mountain Academy, they will be playing at home against St. George's at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
