The Upper Cape Cod RVT Rams will head out on the road to square off against the Avon Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Upper Cape Cod RVT unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They were beaten by Blue Hills RVT 87-54. While losing is never fun, Upper Cape Cod RVT can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 129th, while Blue Hills RVT is ranked 47th).
In what's become a running theme this season, Avon gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They claimed a resounding 73-46 win over Hull at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Avon has posted yet this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Avon to victory, but perhaps none more so than Thomas Edwards, who scored 27 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Edwards has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nyisah Miranda, who scored 24 points.
Upper Cape Cod RVT's loss dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Avon, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-0.
