The South Harrison Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Trenton Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Thursday, South Harrison was fully in charge, breezing past Scotland County 38-6 at home.
Meanwhile, Trenton had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They breezed by Gallatin/Tri-County on the road to the tune of 45-14. The result was nothing new for Trenton, who have now won three matches by 22 points or more so far this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Trenton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mason Rongey, who rushed for 132 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries, and also threw for 93 yards and a touchdown. Rongey was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 61 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabe Novak, who rushed for 122 yards and two touchdowns.
Their wins bumped South Harrison to 3-5 and Trenton to 7-1.
South Harrison was dealt a bruising 48-0 loss at the hands of Trenton when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Thankfully for South Harrison, Sam Gibson (who rushed for 124 yards and three touchdowns on only six carries) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
