Concord Academy had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They skirted past the Greater Cabarrus S Stallions 8-6. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Stallions recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Caisyn Berg was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in March of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in February of 2024.
In other batting news, Milee Amburn was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Zoe Williams, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 3-for-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Concord Academy will venture away from home to square off against Piedmont Community Charter at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Greater Cabarrus S, they will head out on the road to face off against Charlotte Latin at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
