The Cumberland Colts will take on the Schalick Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Having struggled with nine losses in a row, Cumberland turned things around against Delsea last Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Crusaders 10-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Colts have posted since April 17th.

Landon Oswald looked comfortable as he tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Cumberland's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Kameron Fiorani, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI. That's the most hits Fiorani has posted over his last eight contests.
Meanwhile, Schalick entered their tilt with Buena on Thursday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They never let the Chiefs get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 matches by six runs or more this season.
Luke Pokrovsky made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Pokrovsky was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Schalick got a massive performance out of Evan Glaspey, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Ricky Watts was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and one stolen base.
Schalick always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .519. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Buena only posted an OBP of .158.
Schalick's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games. As for Cumberland, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 4-18.
Cumberland skirted past Schalick 2-0 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Do the Colts have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
