La Jolla and the Rattlers are an even 4-4 against one another since January of 2016, but not for long. The La Jolla Vikings will be playing at home against the Canyon Hills Rattlers at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with La Jolla sitting on four straight wins and the Rattlers on three.
Last Friday, La Jolla was able to grind out a solid victory over the Warhawks, taking the game 62-49.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead La Jolla to victory, but perhaps none more so than Michael Contreras, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. Contreras has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last 11 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Sebro, who scored ten points along with six steals and two blocks.
Meanwhile, Canyon Hills can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. Everything went their way against Crawford as Canyon Hills made off with a 68-47 victory. Given Canyon Hills' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 439th, while the Colts are ranked 902nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
La Jolla has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season. As for Canyon Hills, their victory bumped their record up to 18-6.
