Mason County Central is 0-10 against North Muskegon since May of 2019 but things could change on Tuesday. The Spartans will square off against the Norsemen at 4:00 p.m. Mason County Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
Mason County Central came out on top against Hesperia on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fifth inning. The Spartans took their game against the Panthers 8-3. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Pierce Bladzik made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Bladzik was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Drake McKay, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Toby Reed also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Meanwhile, North Muskegon had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. Everything went their way against the Wildcats as they made off with a 12-1 victory. Considering the Norsemen have won seven contests by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Like Mason County Central, North Muskegon also got a great game from a two-way player: Bryce Colbert. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Colbert has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Bronson Hurst was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one triple. Carter Mieler was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
North Muskegon pushed their record up to 16-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Mason County Central, their record is now 9-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Mason County Central has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like North Muskegon struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Mason County Central might still be hurting after the 14-0 loss they got from North Muskegon in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Spartans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
