For the second straight game, Caldera will face off against Redmond. Caldera will be playing in front of their home fans against Redmond at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Caldera's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Redmond has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
While Caldera's win against Redmond wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Caldera had just enough and edged out Redmond 10-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Caldera has posted since May 22, 2025.
Caldera got a great performance from Parker Russell as he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). Russell has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ty Hattenhauer and Carson Downing did most of the damage at the plate: Hattenhauer went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Downing went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Caldera is 3-1 when Hattenhauer posts two or more stolen bases, but 3-4 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Ninneman, who went 1-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Caldera kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive matchups.
Redmond's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Caldera, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Redmond's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Caldera hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .312.
