The Roosevelt Roughriders were the 58-40 winner over the Gresham Gophers when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Roosevelt fell 57-46 to Gresham on Monday. Roosevelt has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Roosevelt saw an underclassman step up: Nevaeh Landrum scored 17 points along with six steals. Another player making a difference was Antwanae Kelly, who scored five points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Roosevelt's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Gresham, they pushed their record up to 3-1 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Roosevelt won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Aloha at 7:00 p.m. on December 12th. Aloha comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Gresham, they will head out on the road to face off against Milwaukie/Milwaukie Academy of the Arts at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Milwaukie/Milwaukie Academy of the Arts is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
