Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pike). They strolled past the North Central Panthers with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 81-63. With that victory, the Red Devils brought their scoring average up to 50.4 points per game.
Pike's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Pierce Collins, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten rebounds. Those ten boards gave Collins a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tj Davis, who posted 13 points.
Pike's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-8. As for North Central, their loss dropped their record down to 13-8.
Coming up, Pike will look to defend their home court on February 21st against Lawrence North at 7:30 p.m. Lawrence North knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matches -- so hopefully Pike likes a good challenge. As for North Central, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 63-52 defeat against Brownsburg on the 18th.
