Wooster is 2-8 against Truckee since April of 2023 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Colts are taking a road trip to square off against the Wolverines at 3:30 p.m. Wooster has given up an average of 18.6 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Wooster couldn't beat Hug on Saturday even though they stacked four runs on them in the first inning. The Colts might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 21-6 to the Hawks, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.
Meanwhile, Truckee entered their tilt with Wooster last Thursday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Colts a 19-0 shutout. The Wolverines might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by ten runs or more this season.
Olyvia Kay made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, she posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March of 2025. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Jessie Borzello and Sophie Inis did most of the damage at the plate: Borzello got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and one triple, while Inis went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, three runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Reina Rosenblatt, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
Truckee was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .692. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .405 or higher in eight consecutive contests.
Truckee's record now sits at 10-11. As for Wooster, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-16.
Wooster suffered a grim 19-0 defeat to Truckee in their previous meeting last Thursday. Can the Colts avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
