Even though the Brookfield Bobcats have not done well against the Immaculate Mustangs recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Brookfield managed a 69-64 victory over the Mustangs. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Shane Weber was his usual excellent self, scoring 46 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. That makes it 17 consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Brookfield's points. Another player making a difference was Danny Ciriello, who scored 11 points along with three blocks.
Brookfield's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-6. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.0 points per game. As for Immaculate, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-9.
Brookfield will head out on the road to face off against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Connecticut (Pomperaug is ranked 64th, while the Bobcats are ranked 58th).
