Kennedy scaled the state rankings by moving to 864 from 915 this week, the biggest jump in Valley Mission. The Cougars climbed the ranks as a result of besting Panorama 30-0.
Van Nuys fell to Sylmar 75-13 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Kennedy's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Daniel Mullin threw for 79 and 1 touchdown and Alejandro Navarro had 50 yards receiving. On the ground Daniel Santos chipped in 150 yards. Daniel Gonzalez helped Kennedy's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 15 yards.
The Cougars' dynamic duo of Mullin and Navarro proved tough for the Pythons to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Gonzalez helped Kennedy's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 15 yards.
Santos was a passing and rushing force as Kennedy bested Panorama.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, San Fernando's Cristian Solano and Jose Camargo have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-3 quarterback Solano has thrown for 2,040 yards this season, while Camargo has 42 catches for 742 yards. Darius Jones from Canoga Park leads the league in rushing with 953 yards.
The Hunters' Jones is a mere 47 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season. Jones has rushed for 953 yards on 106 carries so far this year.
One of the league's premier quarterbacks will face off with its top pass rusher when the Tigers and Reseda face off next week.
A big matchup in Valley Mission this week will be when San Fernando takes on the Regents. Robert Garcia's team is in first place, while Reseda is in fourth place.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Tigers take on Alonso Arreola's team. San Fernando has allowed 126 points this season, while the Regents have given up 154.
The Cougars made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 12,272 from 12,856. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 30-0 victory over the Pythons last week.
