The Farmington Scorpions waltzed into their matchup on Friday with six straight wins but they left with seven. They escaped with a win against Hobbs by the margin of a single free throw, 46-45. That's another feather in the cap for Farmington, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Kapiolani Anitielu was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 14 rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times she's played. Kjani Anitielu was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
Farmington pushed their record up to 15-1 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home. As for Hobbs, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Farmington will square off against Sandia at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
