The Goliad Tigers had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 43.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They took down Edna 21-6. The victory was all the more spectacular given Goliad's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 415th, while Edna is ranked 183rd).
Goliad was led to victory by Lamont Franklin and Eli Luco. Franklin rushed for 50 yards and a touchdown, while Luco rushed for 47 yards and two touchdowns.
Goliad's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Edna, their loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-2-1.
Goliad will take on London at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Edna, they will head out on the road to face off against Mathis at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
