19 must be Beulah's lucky number: they beat Turtle Lake-Mercer with that score not once but twice on Thursday. The Miners beat the Trojans by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 19-3. Winning may never get old, but the Miners sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Addie Dale-Geiger made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Cassie Christensen was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with four runs, two RBI, and one double. Peyten Horning was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Beulah always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .659. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Beulah's victory bumped their record up to 5-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Beulah will square off against Washburn at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Turtle Lake-Mercer, they will face off against Garrison at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
