Bayard is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Monday. They are taking a road trip to challenge the Morrill Lions at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Bayard took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over Minatare.
The victory didn't come easy: Minatare scored at least 18 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-23, 23-25, 25-20.

Jayde Mcallister had an outrageously good game as she had 22 digs. Those 22 digs gave her a new career-high.
Meanwhile, Morrill waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with 14 straight wins... but they left with 15. Everything went their way against the Mustangs as they made off with a 3-0 win.
While Morrill won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-23, 25-17.
Morrill found their leader in freshman Claire Edwards, who had 15 digs and one assist.
Bayard's record is now 10-15. As for Morrill, their record now sits at 23-3.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Monday's matchup: Bayard has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 6.1 aces per game. However, it's not like Morrill struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.2 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Bayard suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Morrill when the teams last played back in September. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
