Creighton Prep and Pius X are an even 4-4 against one another since March of 2015, but likely not for long. The Junior Jays will face off against the Thunderbolts at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Creighton Prep is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.
On Monday, Creighton Prep was able to grind out a solid victory over Rockhurst, taking the game 4-1.

Vinny Constantino looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Creighton Prep is undefeated when he allows at most two walks, but 6-9 otherwise.
At the plate, Tony Coniglio was excellent, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2024. Garrett Andersen was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, Pius X started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Seward. They came up short against the Bluejays last Monday, falling 11-5. Thunderbolts fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Bluejays since last Monday.
Kai Vanis was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run. Another player making a difference was Lucas Newton, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
The win got Creighton Prep back to even at 9-9. As for Pius X, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-8.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Creighton Prep has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Pius X struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Creighton Prep came out on top in a nail-biter against Pius X when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Junior Jays since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
