Even though Abington Friends scored an imposing 69 points on Tuesday, Friends' Central still came out on top. Friends' Central strolled past Abington Friends with points to spare, taking the game 83-69. Given Friends' Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 28th, while Abington Friends is ranked 335th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Fazl Oshodi was his usual excellent self, scoring 25 points. He hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Sumeer Allenye, who scored 11 points along with seven assists.
Friends' Central's victory bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Abington Friends, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.
Friends' Central on the road again on Friday and play against Germantown Friends at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. As for Abington Friends, they will be playing at home against Friends Select at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Friends Select knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight contests -- so hopefully Abington Friends likes a good challenge.
