The Timnath Cubs scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They breezed by DSST: Conservatory Green at home to the tune of 90-11. Timnath might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won five matchups by 28 points or more this season.
Timnath found their leader in underclassman Tiana Guzman, who scored 24 points along with five steals. Guzman continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gretchen Deines, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
The win was the fourth in a row for Timnath, bringing their record for this year to 5-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.8 points per game. As for DSST: Conservatory Green, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-7.
Timnath will challenge Windsor Charter Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. DSST: Conservatory Green will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Aurora Central at 6:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
