Baseball Recap: Western Hills Extends Winning Streak to Three

Western Hills made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Norwood, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Mustangs blew past the Indians 14-4 on Friday. The win was nothing new for the Mustangs as they're now sitting on three straight.

Taylor Britt made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Britt was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing three bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

In other pitching news, Chris Smith looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up three earned runs off only two hits.

Back at the plate, Western Hills got a massive performance out of Myles Pittman, who scored three runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Peyton Schnitzler, who scored two runs and stole five bases while going 2-for-3.

Western Hills always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .514 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Western Hills now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Norwood, they dropped their record down to 3-3 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, Western Hills will take on Clark Montessori at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 8.3 runs per game this season. As for Norwood, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Purcell Marian at 5:00 p.m. The Indians are facing the Cavaliers at the right time seeing as the Cavaliers are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
