Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Montgomery Catholic Knights walked away with it. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Golden Eagles 28-0 on the road. The win was just business as usual for Montgomery Catholic, who after 14 games remain undefeated this season.
Montgomery Catholic was led to victory by Josh Griffin and Caleb Mccreary. Griffin rushed for 96 yards and two touchdowns, while Mccreary rushed for 112 yards and two touchdowns. Mccreary is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played.
Another reason for the win was Montgomery Catholic's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Keltric Washington jr.
Montgomery Catholic's win bumped their record up to 14-0. As for Booker T. Washington, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-5.
Montgomery Catholic will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Cherokee County at 7:00 p.m. on December 8th. Cherokee County is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Booker T. Washington does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
