The Mater Academy East Las Vegas Knights can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Thursday. They really took it to Eldorado for the full four quarters, racking up a 71-44 win at home. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 43-19.
Despite the loss, Eldorado saw an underclassman step up: Robert "RJ" Waddell scored 18 points along with two steals. Waddell hasn't dropped below 15 points for 15 straight games. Eric Lechuga was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with eight rebounds.
The win made it two in a row for Mater Academy East Las Vegas and bumps their season record up to 11-5. As for Eldorado, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-14.
Mater Academy East Las Vegas will head out on the road to square off against Virgin Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Virgin Valley is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 55 points per game this season. As for Eldorado, they and Somerset Sky Pointe will face off at 6:30 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Somerset Sky Pointe will be up against Eldorado's rather soft defense (which has allowed 54.61 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive showing.
