Jefferson has gone a perfect 10-0 against Hedgesville recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. Jefferson will venture away from home to challenge Hedgesville at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Jefferson's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They skirted past Washington 1-0. That's two games straight that the Cougars have won by just one run.
The result came thanks to Becca Munslow's shutout, as she gave up just four hits and racked up 20 Ks. Those 20 strikeouts gave her a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Chloe Cowan was excellent, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three stolen bases. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Graclyn Dodson, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Hedgesville waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 27-6 win. The Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Mayla Ortega was a standout: she got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.2 runs per game. Caylie Shade was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Hedgesville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .650. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.
Jefferson has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Hedgesville, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-1.
Jefferson took their win against Hedgesville in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 9-1. Does Jefferson have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hedgesville turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
