Football Recap: Plaquemine Piles Up the Points Against Wossman

Plaquemine had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They breezed past the Wossman Wildcats to the tune of 50-14 on Friday. Considering the Green Devils have won nine contests by more than 31 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Plaquemine's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Spencer Collins, who rushed for 142 yards and one touchdown on only 13 carries. Collins' longest rush was for an impressive 62 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Another signal caller making a difference was Brennan Miles, who threw for 143 yards and a pair of TDs on only 11 passes.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Plaquemine was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 228 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October.

Plaquemine's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 10.8 points on average over those games. As for Wossman, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.

Plaquemine didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 47-28 victory against Cecilia on the 28th. Wossman does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
