Baseball Recap: Inspiration Academy Comes Up Short

Inspiration Academy has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 4.09 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Thursday. They fell just short of Sunshine State Elite Academy by a score of 10-9. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Sunshine State Elite Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Inspiration Academy got a good showing from Kolten Harris, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. That's the fewest earned runs Harris has allowed since back in February.

At the plate, Ty Harvey was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Jackson Bradley was another key player, going 1-for-4 with four RBI and one double.

Inspiration Academy is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-9. As for Sunshine State Elite Academy, with the win, they broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Inspiration Academy will head out to challenge IMG Academy Gold at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games the Ascenders have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Sunshine State Elite Academy, they will venture away from home to face off against IMG Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Ascenders will roll in looking for their 14th straight victory, something Sunshine State Elite Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
