The Galva Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 67-44 walloping at the hands of Annawan. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Galva in their matchups with Annawan: they've now lost five in a row.
Despite the defeat, Galva saw an underclassman step up: JP Sloan scored 16 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sloan has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Stahl, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Galva has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for Annawan, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-3.
Galva will be playing in front of their home fans against Princeville at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Princeville has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 349 points over their last five contests. As for Annawan, they will head out on the road to take on Monmouth United at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
