MABEN, Miss. - the Eagles scored 23 points in the third quarter to secure a big 37-7 victory over East Webster (Maben, Miss.) on Saturday.
Eupora scored on a
Pittman Trey touchdown pass to
Jones Derrick, a touchdown run by Derrick and a touchdown run in the quarter.
EHS was up 14-0 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Smith Vandy in the first quarter.
The Eagles expanded their lead to 37 points entering the fourth quarter. Eupora scored four times in the third, including once on a touchdown pass by Trey to Derrick.
With the win EHS extended its winning streak to six games. The Eagles defeated the Yellowjackets 55-0 last week.
Derrick stood out for Eupora in the win. He ran for one touchdown and caught one touchdown. He has now scored 13 touchdowns on the season.
The Wolverines' lone touchdown came on a run in the fourth quarter.
East Webster came in giving up 6.5 points per game this season. EW struggled against EHS's offense, which entered the game scoring 32.0 points per game. The Eagles came into the game allowing 12.5 points per game. The seven points that the Maben school ended with were well below its average of 23.9 coming into the game.
A 35-0 Eupora victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
The loss comes after East Webster defeated Hamilton 24-0 last week. The loss snapped the Wolverines' 3-game winning streak.
