The True North Classical Academy Titans will head out on the road to square off against the Miami Christian Victors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
True North Classical Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Monday. They fell 75-68 to Elite Academy.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jasen Lopez, who scored 17 points along with five assists and five rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Boosie Swan, who scored 13 points along with five assists and two steals.
Meanwhile, Miami Christian can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent game last Wednesday. They breezed by Edison Private at home to the tune of 83-36. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Miami Christian has posted since December 12, 2023.
Miami Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sebastian Gonzalez led the charge by dropping a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. Gonzalez is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games he's played. Chris Bravo was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with three steals.
True North Classical Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 14-5. As for Miami Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.
True North Classical Academy beat Miami Christian 76-67 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Does True North Classical Academy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Miami Christian turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
