They walked away with a 29-22 win over Lincoln County. Shelbyville Central's offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Lincoln County's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Hunter Hammons, who rushed for 107 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 35 receiving yards.
Even if they lost, Lincoln County's defense still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Leading the way was Colton Carter and his three sacks.
Shelbyville Central's victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-1. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely Lincoln County, Spring Hill, and Coffee County Central. As for Lincoln County, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
Shelbyville Central will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Tullahoma. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Tennessee (Tullahoma is ranked 78th, while Shelbyville Central is ranked 61st). As for Lincoln County, they will head out on the road to face off against Columbia Central at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Columbia Central is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
