New Boston has gone a perfect 3-0 against Elysian Fields recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Lions will face off against the Yellowjackets at 11:00 a.m.
New Boston can't be too happy about their upcoming road matchup considering what happened when they opened their season away from home on Saturday. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Rivercrest.
Karly Vallejos put in work while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Vallejos was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Vallejos wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Haven Ballard, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, Elysian Fields never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They blew past Winona 32-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Yellowjackets.
Like New Boston, Elysian Fields also got a great game from a two-way player: Madi Owens. On the mound, Owens pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Harper Day pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. At bat, Owens went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles, while Day went 1-for-4 with three runs and one RBI. That's the most doubles Owens has posted since back in March of 2025.
In other batting news, Kirsten Commander was incredible, going 3-for-4 with six RBI, four runs, and two doubles. Nevaeh Yates was another key player, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
New Boston beat Elysian Fields 15-12 when the teams last played back in February of 2025. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Yellowjackets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
