The Fleetwood Tigers are headed away from home for the first time to square off against the Upper Perkiomen Indians at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Fleetwood was handed a ten-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Pottsville, sneaking past 4-3. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Crimson Tide recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Meanwhile, Upper Perkiomen made easy work of Oley Valley on Thursday and carried off a 22-7 win.
Grayson Sabo made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched three innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2025. He was even better at the plate, going 3-for-5 with three doubles, two runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Zane Saeger was incredible, going 4-for-5 with one home run, eight RBI, and three runs. He has been hot, having also posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Benjamin Sands, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Upper Perkiomen always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .636. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Oley Valley only posted an OBP of .483.
Upper Perkiomen's record is now 2-0. As for Fleetwood, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Everything went Fleetwood's way against Upper Perkiomen in their previous meeting back in March of 2025, as Fleetwood made off with an 11-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
