McMahon is 0-10 against Norwalk since April of 2015 but things could change on Wednesday. The Senators will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bears at 4:00 p.m. McMahon has given up an average of 11.3 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Tuesday just wasn't the day for McMahon's offense. They came up short against New Canaan on Tuesday, falling 17-0. The Senators have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The home team had won the previous three meetings between Norwalk and Westhill, and Norwalk kept the tradition alive. The Bears blew past the Vikings 14-1 on Friday.
Maddie Collins and Zoey Wilds made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Collins pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Wilds pitched 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. At bat, Collins went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Wilds went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one triple. That triple was Wilds' first of the season.
In other batting news, Ally Lanzarotto was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexa Lacomis, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Norwalk always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Norwalk has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for McMahon, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9.
McMahon suffered a grim 6-0 defeat to Norwalk when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Senators avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
