After soaring to 34 points the game before, The Esperanza Aztecs were a bit more limited in their game on Friday. Their rough 31-7 defeat to El Dorado might stick with them for a while. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Esperanza in their matchups with El Dorado: they've now lost five in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Esperanza lost, one person who can't be blamed is Aaron Forsgren. Despite the final result, he rushed for 86 yards and a touchdown.
El Dorado had a senior duo take command as Nate Bento rushed for 73 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries and Isaiah Quintero rushed for 90 yards and two touchdowns.
Esperanza has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for El Dorado, their win was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 5-5.
Esperanza will be playing in front of their home fans against Poly at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Poly is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games. As for El Dorado, they will head out on the road to face off against Laguna Beach at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Laguna Beach is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
