Two dominant forwards in Gracie Ashley and Bree Allen are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Notre Dame Titans will be playing at home against the Fairland Dragons at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Notre Dame knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine contests -- so hopefully Fairland likes a good challenge.
Notre Dame pushed their score all the way to 62 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of South Gallia by a score of 64-62.
Notre Dame's defeat came about despite a quality game from Ashley, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds. Ella Kirby was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Meanwhile, Fairland had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 43.5 points), and they went ahead and made it nine on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 75-57 win over Boyd County. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Notre Dame's loss ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 17-3. As for Fairland, they pushed their record up to 20-1 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
