Even though the Canutillo Eagles have not done well against the Andress Eagles recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Canutillo secured a 42-38 W over Andress. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Canutillo.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Canutillo to victory, but perhaps none more so than Austin Bonilla, who scored nine points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Angel Moriel, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Canutillo has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season. As for Andress, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-11.
Canutillo on the road again on Tuesday and play against Chapin at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. Chapin will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak alive. Andress will take on Jefferson at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jefferson has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 28.
