The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Atmore Christian has struggled recently with 14 defeats in a row, while Escambia Academy will arrive with eight straight wins.
Last Thursday, Atmore Christian took a serious blow against Central Christian, falling 76-41. Atmore Christian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 55-23.
In what's become a running theme this season, Escambia Academy gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 70-40 win over Wilcox Academy. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Escambia Academy has posted since December 7, 2023.
Escambia Academy's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Quinton Odom, who scored 21 points, and Rontae Watson, who scored 26 points. Odom hasn't dropped below 15points for eight straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Bell, who scored eight points.
Atmore Christian dropped their record down to 0-6 with that loss, which was their eighth straight on the road. As for Escambia Academy, their win bumped their record up to 14-2.
