Eisenhower is 1-8 against Spring since September of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Eisenhower Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Spring Lions at 7:00 p.m. Eisenhower is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
Last Thursday, Eisenhower was fully in charge, breezing past Aldine 55-7 at home.
Meanwhile, Spring suffered a tough 44-24 loss at the hands of Nimitz on Friday. Spring has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite their loss, Spring saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Delonte Henderson, who rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Ahran Ogbor, who rushed for 83 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries.
Eisenhower's victory bumped their season record to 3-6 while Spring's defeat dropped theirs to 4-5.
Eisenhower beat Spring 25-16 when the teams last played back in November of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Eisenhower since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
